A day in the life of a student intern at ERGO

Master’s student in finance mathematics and actuarial science “I’m in my fourth semester of my master’s degree in financial mathematics at TU Munich. I am currently working on my thesis and will be at ERGO in Düsseldorf for a total of four weeks as part of their partnership with my university. Here I get to learn how to apply the theory from my studies in practice.”

“My liaisons at ERGO are Ms Brück and Ms Wittke from HR. I also have a mentor who supports me here and in my studies. A professor of mine is the one who talked to me about doing my master’s thesis in cooperation with ERGO – this is something I highly recommend!”

Valuable input for the thesis

“I’m really enjoying my time at ERGO. My colleagues are friendly and incredibly helpful. I’m constantly being exposed to new ideas and exciting suggestions to incorporate into my master’s thesis. I’m researching profile optimization for two business areas: DKV and ERGO Leben.”

Who encouraged you?

Gaining professional insight and expanding horizons

“The combination between practical input from my ERGO colleagues and professional support from TUM is ideal for incorporating both theory and praxis into my thesis. I’m able to gain deep insights into praxis-based matters, expand my knowledge and look at things from different perspectives!”

An all-round success!

“The path to ERGO was quite simple, really: my professor recommended me for one of many interesting topics and my advisor looked at my application. After that it was time to get down to business. I was impressed by the abundance of both professional knowledge and friendliness – I was warmly welcomed and integrated immediately.”
